"Making A House A Home"
Gateway Community Industries provides housing programs to assist our consumers in successfully integrating into independent community living. We offer a variety of types of housing in both Ulster and Dutchess Counties.
The focus of the Residential Program is on recovery, taking a proactive approach to the growth and development of all residential skills. Discharge planning is begun on the day of admission and active program participation is encouraged. Our goal is to assist residents as they obtain other public entitlements so that they may live independently. Residents are supported to participate in non-traditional opportunities related to volunteerism, vocational training, educational development and social pursuits. Each resident is offered the opportunity to establish a Personal Recovery Based Action Plan with their team. This person-centered focus has increased our level of successful post residential housing to 84%. We continue to provide linkage with mainstream resources, community supports, family and positive peer relationships. The individualized approach has led to increased independence in growth.
