On with 2011
First and foremost I want to say “Thank You” for all your hard work and dedication in 2010. It was a particularly challenging year but your positive attitude and willingness to adjust has made it possible for us to survive all the turbulence around us. This was a true team effort be tween you our direct care providers and all of us who support your service delivery.
Hopefully your New Year has started on a positive note. Gateway Community Industries is scheduled to start its new system of recovery oriented services during the first week of January. The PROS will be called “C.R.E.A.T.E.” and while it will operate under one license we will have services in New Paltz and in Kingston. We already have a waiting list of individuals who want to be enrolled.
We have submitted our proposal to transform the OMH Work Center funding and hope to hear soon as to whether it has been accepted. We are working with new business partners to find self-sustaining work. We have proposed a new array of services to support our workers in that new business model. More to follow.
In the end Business Services was able to meet several of its targets and we are ready to start working on the 2011 goals! We continue to expand our special needs Supported Housing beds in both Dutchess and Ulster Counties and have submitted an application to open two Homeless Veterans beds. Hopefully there is more news to come on that front as well. As our new Governor takes office we anxiously await to hear who will be assuming leadership roles in all of the regulatory agencies and what the 2011-12 state budget will look like.
The only thing that seems crystal clear is that change will continue.
Happy 2011!
Françoise
